Drop-In

Mencap Drop In meets weekly on Wednesdays at the Goosecroft Centre.  Friends come along to meet socially and to take part in crafts, games and other activities in the morning.  In the afternoon there are organised activities such as Boccia, Bingo and Karaoke.

Lunch and other refreshments are available from the café organised as a mini enterprise and run by the local Personalised Learning Centre.

GOOSECROFT ARTS

The group meets on Tuesdays from 10am to 3pm at Goosecroft Centre.  Our art Tutor Ruth Hawkes organises a range of art activities which change weekly.  Members of this group have produced some amazing pieces of art which can be taken home or displayed in the centre. Some of the art work follows a theme depending on seasons and such things as Learning Disability Week.

GOOSECROFT PICKERS

GOOSECROFT PICKERS

Goosecroft Pickers are people who have a learning disability and their friends and family who help with litter picking in Northallerton.  The pickers meet once a month on a Saturday morning to tidy up rubbish as a way of giving back to the community.  After a busy morning gathering rubbish they meet back at the Goosecroft Centre to have a light lunch and socialise.

Northallerton and the Dales Mencap Society staff team members are:

We are a small but efficient and friendly staff team striving to help and support people with a learning disability who attend our many activities at the Goosecroft Centre.

OUR TRUSTEES

The Society is run by a Management Committee which has a maximum of 12 members in addition to the elected officers (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer).  There are also 3 spaces for Co-opted members.

Members serves for 1 year from The Annual General Meeting and can be re-elected.

Committee Members are drawn from individuals, parents, carers, people who have a learning disability and organisations who have an interest in learning disability issues.
