Our New Home: The Goosecroft Centre
Our original centre in Goosecroft Lane was opened some 50 years ago by Lord Brian Rix. Half a century later we have successfully raised the funds needed to redevelop our centre to offer improved facilities for our members and the community.
The new enlarged facility which has been renamed The Goosecroft Centre, is the home of Local Mencap for Northallerton and the Dales and includes: a large meeting room, an additional activity area, a kitchen equipped and suitable for training and for catering, an additional interview space, a multi purpose sensory/music room with computer access as well as offices for Mencap and Breathing Space. The design also includes a changing places toilet with external access.
Active fund raising continues to help meet operating costs and support the provision of resources and activities for our users.and thanks to the work of our volunteers, contributions from members of the public and support from local organisations such as Northallerton Sainsbury’s store staff, we will continue to improve our facilities for our users.
Help us continue our work by supporting our events, making a donation or even arranging a fund-raising event yourself.
